What is Pranic Healing?

Pranic Healing is a highly evolved and tested system of energy healing (the word "pranic" comes from the Sanskrit word ‘prana’ meaning life-force). Pranic Healing is applied in the energy body otherwise known as the bio-plasmic body or the aura.

It was developed by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui in the 1980’s and since then has spread across the world and is now practised in more than 120 countries. It is based on the principle that the body is a self-repairing living entity and thus possesses the ability to heal itself. If the amount of life force or prana on the affected part is increased the speed that the body can heal is increased.

The energy body is the blueprint for the physical body. It surrounds and permeates the entire physical body and it is through the energy body that prana or life-energy is absorbed and distributed throughout the physical body. Physical illnesses, ailments and other conditions first appear in the energy body as an energy disruption before manifesting themselves in the physical body.

In energy terms animals are the same as people; we all have an energy body surrounding our physical bodies.

How Can Pranic Healing Help My Animal?

Generally animals respond well to Pranic Healing – unlike people they don’t have any pre-conceived ideas about it and are thus less inclined to offer any resistance to it! Whether you want to help speed up the recovery of a broken bone, a post-operative trauma or calm down an anxious animal, Pranic Healing can help either as a stand-alone therapy or in addition to any treatment the animal is already having.

However, as with all complementary therapy for animals, approval from your vet is required before treatment can begin.

What can I expect from a Pranic Healing session?

It's a non-touch therapy, and the patient can either stand, sit or lie, as long as they're comfortable. E.g. Dogs often lay on the floor next to their owners.

How many sessions might be needed?

Irrespective of the type of ailment, it's recommended that a minimum of 3 treatments are given. If the ailment is more serious, then additional sessions will be required. In these cases sessions at the beginning of the treatment must be fairly close together (e.g. twice per week). Then, as the energy body becomes more stable, and holds the extra energy for longer, the sessions can be spread out.

Some people use Pranic Healing as a preventative measure, and have a session every month.

How much does a Pranic Healing session cost?

Typically it will cost £20 per session, plus travel costs for the therapist to travel to you.

Can Pranic Healing be provided at a distance?

Yes, it is possible for a trained Pranic Healer to provide at a distance. A good quality photograph and telephone conversation with the animal's owner is required.

How will I know if a Pranic Healing therapist is qualified?

Pranic Healing is certified by the Institute of Inner Studies, and a qualified therapist will be able to show their certificates if you request, and these should be signed and stamped by a recognised teacher.

A qualified Pranic Healing therapist will also attend continual professional development, in order to keep their skills up to date and learn new ones.
